という記事を見て，ふと現在のバッテリ状況を確認してみた．

1年で公称値より3%減．

先回MacBookProのバッテリを調節の効果を検証したが

あれから半年以上バッテリ調整はしていない．
思ったより容量の減少は緩やかである．

このままのペースで使用頻度に対して線形的に容量が減少すると仮定すると，
頻繁にバッテリ調整を繰り返したPowerBookG4より容量減少を抑えられるかもしれない．

バッテリ調整は本当に必要なのだろうか？

これでは儀式と揶揄されても反論できないな，

Spotlight server is disabled.

10.5でSpotlightをOFFにしてSnowLeopardをインストールした場合，ネットワーク環境のみを引き継いだが，Spotlightを含むサーバーのデーモン設定も引き継いでしまったらしい．

普段，Spotlightのインデックス作成によるパフォーマンス低下に悩みOFFにしたものの，どうしても必要になったためONにしようと思ったが，一筋縄でいかないようだ．

まず

sh-3.2# mdutil -i on /
Spotlight server is disabled.

Jesus！

逆の手順でSpotlightを有効化しようと試みるが

/System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.Spotlight.plist

が見つからず．(10.6から無くなった？)

とりあえず

sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist

にて

mdsを有効化．

とりあえずインデックス作成は始まったようだ．

インデックス化する必要ないボリュームやディレクトリを指定して，放置．

ただいま放置中であるが，IntelSSD&SnowLeopardに置けるSpotlight検索のパフォーマンス，及びインデックス作成の負荷，パフォーマンスを後日レポートしたい．

各社からウイルス対策ソフトの新バージョンが発表される中

Macも対象にしたパッケージが目立ちます．

数年ぶりにウイルス対策ソフトを購入しました．

ウイルスバスター2010

購入した理由

1ライセンスで3台までインストール可能．
1ライセンスでWin&Mac OK
ダウンロードパッケージで￥4980/年と安い．
TVCMを見て(一日3回は見る…)
CMのタレントが好き(仲間リサ)<-mod’s hairのCMにも出てるね

ダウンロードしてインストールしてみたら

SnowLeopar未対応

SnowLeopard発売とのタイミングで，てっきり対応済かと思っていた．残念．

とりあえずウンコビスタに放り込んでみます．

Intel SSD@ MacBook Pro

以前から注目していたIntel SSD X25-M Mainstream SATA SSD SSDSA2MH160G2C1

不具合が解消された新ファームウェア版をドスパラでゲット．

3.5inchアダプタが同梱されているがノートに使うのでマジ要らない．

Intel SSD X25-M Mainstream SATA SSD SSDSA2MH160G2C1

SnowLeopard乗り換えが良い機会なので，早速インストールする．

光学ドライブの代わりにHDDをインストールするにはHDDマウンタが必要．(以前秋葉館で購入した)

既存のHDDをセカンダリ，SSDをプライマリにドライブにインストール．

SSDをプライマリにした理由は，MacBookProがスリープに入ったときにセカンダリのドライブをOFFにしてしまうからだ．

開腹　付属のSSDステッカーを貼ってみる

SnowLeopardをインストール

Logitecの外付けドライブは読み込みが異常に遅く，インストールに30分程度費やす．

SnowLeopardのウリである，高速インストールは全く体感できなかった．

さて，早速であるが

一番気になるベンチマークは，

Xbench HDD & SSD

ベンチマークのスコアは申し分ない.

CS4, Office2008などをインストールしてパフォーマンスを確認．

Extensionてんこ盛りのFirefoxでもCS4でも確かにキビキビしている．

詳しいレポートは割愛するが，直感として

SnowLeopardがHDDでも十分早いので，

あんま変わらない，ってか分かんない．

これが結論です．

でも以前eSataでHDD RAID0を組んだ時とあんま変わらない．

現時点の結論: 費用対効果はあまりない．

To customize php, copy
/opt/local/etc/php5/php.ini-dist (if this is a development server) or
/opt/local/etc/php5/php.ini-recommended (if this is a production server) to
/opt/local/etc/php5/php.ini and then make changes.

If this is your first install, you need to activate PHP in your web server.

To enable PHP in Apache, run
cd /opt/local/apache2/modules
/opt/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -e -n “php5″ libphp5.so
—> Cleaning php5

sudo pear channel-update pear.php.net
sudo pear list-upgrades
sudo pear upgrade PEAR

おまじないが終わったらSymfonyのインストール．

sudo pear channel-discover pear.symfony-project.com
